This is the new blog for Food and Farming for REAL, an organisation dedicated to preserving the uplands of Britain.
Upland communities play a vital role in many areas of our lives, literally providing access to everything from food to fresh air. The main showcase event for Food & Farming for REAL is at the Kilnsey Show in August and will provide an opportunity for visitors to meet all sorts of individuals, organisations and businesses, who all have one thing in common, a passion for the environment they live in and a determination to see it survive.
We hope that through the blog, you will be able to gain an insight into the upland community and the important issues that threaten it’s existance as well as learning something, being amused and even maybe taking away some useful tips and techniques that will help you with day to day living and working.

For my part, I’ll try and bring some articles about the way that rural businesses and organisations can use new technology and particularly the internet to reach wider audiences. Another contributor, Christine Ryder will bring us news and views from her upland bed and breakfast.
